Through this blog I hope to share some of my feelings and views on higher education in India after spending over 2 decades in academia, focusing more on the experiences in building IIIT-Delhi as its founding Director. Will use it also to record some of the key events in the evolution of IIIT-Delhi.

    Dear sir.

Thank you sir for making such great institution sir i am very keen to be a part of your institution and i am totally excited after seeing your eligible criteria that i wish i can complete before board because i only need is computer and want to do research at UG programme which only you provide . i have learnt more than that of school level while many students are preparing for iit’s and all but i have faith that only way to achieve something is i have to compete them in my stream after seeing your programme i am really excited. Sir but unfortunately my luck was not with me Delhi Boards are made harder for the purpose of admissions of DU as its cutoff was 100% last year that’s why BITS also decrease its aggregate form 80% to 75% so sir i am keep believing that i will reach at 80% in boards, there are many students like me also who are good in computers and average in physics and maths , and chemistry but this time there luck is not with them sir it’s a request for you to please give some fall in aggregate you want for your admission if i get admission in your college i will not let you down your college repo this fact that i will perform good for your college and for india. well darkness can be pierced by small light of hope sir. it your decision sir you are more great than us it only on you will you give us chance well what will be your decision we will readily accept sir.

    Thanking You

    Dear Director,

You have perfectly articulated all the points that also concerned many other fellows and myself. I am currently, Graduate student at University of Toronto. I am delighted finding out that, IIIT Delhi is one of the path breaker institute in India. Your model is very good and I think Should be adopted by many new institutes as well.

I think, it will be easier if you write this blog posts also on Quora. Many aspiring students now seek help from this platform. It will help your ideas to reach more people.

    Thank You.

Sir , I am parent of a child who has got admission this year in your institute IT&SS course .. My query is as under :
    1) My child had commerce stream with maths, i.e non science background , with no knowledge of computer topics or programming ,, will she be able to cope up with IT subjects and programming ?
    2) is this course acceptable for qualification for Masters Prog in Economics in India and abroad ( like London School of Economics , etc )
    3) As this is absolutely new course , what hopes can she have of placements on completion of her B.Tech in I.T & SS ,, as your institute have excellent placements for B.Tech ( CS & ECE ), but can she expect good placements in this new course ? And which are the companies that can be expected to give jobs to students of this course ?
